Your Computer's Spreadsheet

Make A Copy of A Page  
  
 
      To make a copy of a page,
1st: Have a blank page ready or create a new page or sheet.
2nd: Select, then copy (Ctrl + C) the source content.
3rd: Move to the new page.
4th: Paste (Ctrl + V) the content onto the new page.
5th: Save the spread sheet before continuing work.
 
      To place the copy of a page in a DIFFERENT workbook or spread sheet, both workbooks must be open in Excel® at the same time.
      They need not both be visible but they must both be open.


Create a New or Additional Sheet  
  
 
      To place an additional or new page or sheet in a workbook or a spread sheet, press ALT + I, then W.
1st: Open the Insert menu on the top of the spread sheet header.
2nd: Select Worksheet.


Make A Copy of A Workbook or Spread sheet  
  
 
      To make a copy of a workbook or spread sheet, save it under a different name, press ATL + F, then A.
1st: Decide where you wish to place the new copy.
2nd: Open the FILE menu at the top left of the screen.
3rd: Select SAVE AS...
4th: Type the new name in the desired location.




Exponentiate or Raise to A Power  
  
 
      To raise-to-a-power or exponentiate, use the "up caret" the character above the 6 on the keyboard, ^
Example: Compute or simplify: 23
Type the formula =2^3 in a cell and then ENTER.


Take A Square Root  
  
 
      To take a square root, type SQRT or use the functions button.
Example: Compute or simplify: 25
Type the formula =SQRT(25) in a cell and then ENTER
or
Press the function button then select SQRT and place the argument in parenthesis.


Place a picture on a spread sheet  
  
 
      To place a picture on a spread sheet,
1st: Have a picture stored in a file on your computer and know its location.
2nd: Place the curser in the cell in which you wish the
upper left of the picture. (It may be moved later.)
3rd: Open the Insert menu on the top of the spread sheet header.
4th: Select the desired picture or image file.
5th: Save the spread sheet before continuing work.

    Once you have learned to insert a picture, you can create DIGITAL MANIPULATIVE SPREAD SHEETS
