Plotting Points
Coordinates, numbers stated in a specific order, name places on earth.

The abscissas (left-right) come first and the ordinates (up-down) come next.
For example, the point (2, 4) is 2 spaces to the right and 4 spaces up from the starting point, the origin, (0,0).

Vocabulary Review and Point Naming
Questions 1 - 4: Complete.
1. The horizontal number line is called the _x-axis_.
2. The vertical number line is called the _y-axis_.
3. The point where the number lines cross at right angles to each other,
where the lines are perpendicular, is called _origin_.
4. Use coordinates, (left-right, up-down), to name each point graphed.

Picture Creation
Questions 5 - 8:   You will be drawing 4 pictures.

Start at the first point. Draw a line from there to the next point, and then from there to the next, and then next, until you draw the line to the last (beginning) point to complete a picture.
