MATH GAMES FOR ADULT AND CHILD

CARD GAMES

Even adults enjoy playing card games.

You may remember playing these games or ones similar to them as a child. Yet you may not have realized the mathematic or arithmetic practice that they provided.

SUMTHING ELSE provides practice in addition or, for the very young child, number recognition. WAR reinforces order relationships and the fact that one number is less than, is greater than, or is equal to another number. BEAT THE TENS and FOR 2, 3, OR 4 and DONE emphasize addition, subtraction, and number families.

These games may be learned by children and played without adult supervision. They may be learned by the young child and extended or added to as the child becomes older. Either way, they provide fun and rich learning experiences and opportunities.
